- The Corps consists of five battalions, withe
a total of 21 separate companies.
- Cadets are required to participate in Leadership Day, an annual event
during which members of the Corps provide more than 1,300 hours and an estimated $185,000 worth of volunteer service community
partners.
- Mandatory leadership and ethics studies in a military culture that provides real-life
leadership challenges. Active partnerships with 36 community organizations in the Lowcountry, including students in
Title 1 schools where test scores are critically low and poverty is high.

receive some sort of financial aid (over 70% receive donor-provided scholarships)
• State funding provides ~8% of the total operating budget. Since 2011, The Citadel Foundation has outpaced the state of
South Carolina as the college’s primary benefactor.

Did
you know the newest campus building will include a performance auditorium, art gallery, art studio, and digital
media lab? Or that over 25% of the corps are taking art classes each year with 16 art classes
